Merengue Groove on Cajon πŸ‡©πŸ‡΄

Hi! I hope you are doing well.

I’m here with another cajon tutorial for you. Today you are going to learn a Merengue groove on cajon!

Merengue is a latin music style that comes from the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean. Today I’m going to show an adaptation of this groove on the cajon. You will notice in this pattern some similarities with other latin rhythms like the Reggaeton for example. But Merengue is a fast music style and this is the main difference of other latin grooves.

We are going to start playing it together with the metronome at 60bpm for you to integrate the pattern.Β Then faster at 90 bpm and then we’ll try it at he goal tempo 120bpm. And when you feel comfortable with the groove you are going to play it with music.Β I have included the Backing track in the video for you to practice the groove with music that is also at 120bpm.
