70’s Funk Groove for Cajon – Cajon vs Drums

Hello cajon drummers!

Following the concept of drum kit grooves adapted for the cajon in this video I’m going to show you how I’ve made the transition of this 70s funk soul groove from the kit to the cajon.

This is a groove inspired by the drummer James Gadson that is master of this 16th note hihat grooves.

I will start the tutorial slow at 50bpm for you to integrate the pattern and of course I expect that you play with me. After, we will play it faster at 70bpm and then we’ll play it at the goal tempo of the tutorial at 90bpm.

If 50bpm still fast for you ,stop the video and practice slow until you integrate the pattern.
