Ok… I’ll talk a bit about myself.
My name is Felipe Fagundes and I am a drummer and percussionist born in southern Brazil and based in Nice, south of France. My strong passion for music and drumming began at the age of 12 when I started a career as a child artist in 1994 playing alongside my two brothers, Diego and Marcos. With our band ‘Chapa’ we recorded four albums and spent 15 years touring around South America and Europe.
In 2009 I moved to London-UK to receive a formal education and was awarded a Higher Diploma in Drums from The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and a first prize of best drummer. Successively, I earned a Masters degree (MMus) in Music Performance from Kingston University London. During 7 years in UK, I performed with several artists from all over the world and started to teach. It was the moment I understand more about my real purpose… to teach my passion, drums and percussion!
Following this idea, I moved to Nice in 2015 and collaborated as a drum instructor in the Academie de Musique de Nice during two years before starting as an independent teacher, teaching both cajon and drums. Moreover, I am part of new musical projects like Marcos Fagundes Jazz & Bossa, the electro group CC Project and the trio Bossa Nossa with whom I am regularly travelling around the world.
Cajon Master is a project I’ve always dream of and now I have the possibility to share my passion and my knowledge of this fantastic instrument.
